<font size=3>Applications are sought for an immediate opening of a
research assistant position in physical oceanography. The position will
involve processing of moored current meters, data analysis, writing
matlab scripts, quality control of data, and participation in journal
article publications (depending upon experience). The goals of the
project are building and improving a large archive of current meter
moorings, and statistical data analysis leading to novel research
results, and publications. Minimum qualifications are a B.Sc. in Science
or Engineering, though an M.Sc. or Ph.D. is preferred. Extensive
experience with MatLab is a strong asset. The location will be at the
National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK. The funding is from the
University of Texas, and pay is in US dollars, between $3000 to $4200/
month, depending upon qualifications. The initial appointment will
be for six months, and is renewable depending upon funding and results.
